Microcopy
Adding Insurance Task
Design iteration yields content simplification.
March 2024 - The following mockups represent the “before” and “after” versions of select screens I rewrote while employed as a UX content designer for a large healthcare/retail corporation. Our design team was tasked by the product manager to apply new branding and updated UI to existing task flows (already in production). Since we were already making UI changes, it also made sense to look for opportunities to improve the content at the same time.
This particular user task entails adding your health insurance details while booking a medical appointment via your smartphone.
The case exemplifies how taking the time to iterate upon existing designs can yield numerous improvements: greater task clarity, simplified instructions, improved accessibility; and a happier product manager, too.
Fair warning: As the focus of this case study is microcopy, the descriptions delve into minute details. (Not for the faint of heart.) ;)
I recreated all the mockups, which do not represent final UI. Branding and logos have been anonymized to protect business confidentiality.
